With decades of boating experience behind him, Seabear's first owner set out to create the ultimate expedition vessel, purpose-built for exploring Australia and beyond.
In 2006, ASEA Yacht Designs (Australia) were commissioned to design the yacht, with construction entrusted to Amanda Industries Pte Ltd in Singapore. The build took place in Vietnam under the supervision of an experienced New Zealand yacht builder, ensuring every detail met the highest standards. Australian tradesmen and materials were utilised throughout, maintaining exceptional quality control during the 17-month project.
Launched and built to Lloyd's Class VTU0400110, Seabear proved an outstanding success. Powered by twin 320HP Caterpillar 3406 engines (derated from 600HP), she cruises comfortably and with her Wesmar stabilisers, she offers a remarkably smooth and stable ride.
Under her first owner, Seabear cruised extensively along Australia's east coast and throughout New Zealand. Her current owner, based in Port Douglas, has spent the past four years exploring the northern Great Barrier Reef region.
This 72' Amanda expedition motor yacht is equipped with extensive redundancy systems and a host of special inclusions designed for safe, comfortable, long-range cruising. Recent upgrades include a full exterior repaint, new carpets throughout, and new Strata Glass flybridge clears--further enhancing her already impressive presentation.
To truly appreciate Seabear and all she has to offer, we invite you to step aboard and experience this exceptional expedition yacht firsthand.
