It is no secret that many of us have wanted to cruise to those remote destinations that are generally only accessible to Large Fancy Super Expensive Explorer Cruisers/Yachts, carrying tonnes of gear you do not either want or need and will unlikely never use on such dream journeys, in a fancy looking boat that came from from the designers of boats that generally never leave the protected coastal bays. They are generally high and light yet still require significant horsepower and behave terribly in poor conditions and often come with multimillion dollar price tags and associated high running costs.
What if your now Passagemaker came from the design board of one of Australia's most respected commercial vessel designers, a knowledge gained from years of plying the treacherous and unforgiving waters of Tasmainias cold southern ocean in what can only be described as the worst of conditions. What if this heavy full displacement vessel with a low horsepower and incredibly economical engine could take you to anywhere on the planet at a quarter or a sixth of the price of supposedly specifically designed passagemaker vessels. Additionally what if with the very lovely twin cabin layout as a couple you could share share the cost with another like-minded couple, or extended family members, this suddenly opens the ability to explore and complete trips you may have never thought possible.
Wilsons Voyager now awaits the discerning buyer.

Seven Star Marine Sales in conjunction with Jim Staurt Marine are very pleased to present to the market, Wilsons Voyager from the board of the highly respected and much admired Bernard Wilson. Originally designed and built as a Tasmanian Cray Boat Wilsons Voyager never really fished and was aquired by our astute vendor as a platform from which to create this Masterpiece Cruiser.
An easily driven hull with a massive covered foredeck and aft wheelhouse ticks many of the boxes when the opportunity arose to take this Survey Built, Fully Splined Commercial Vessel to the fine Recreational Cruiser she has become today. The location of the wheelhouse aft provides the best of ride motions in the worst of conditions, the deckspace forward always provides the welcome cooling breezes, the large cover protecting those on board from the harshest of conditions the sun can throw at us. The foredeck allows the skipper to also be aware of where people are while underway, a large day bed, ample tender storage and crane make this area multifunctional, with easy access forward for setting and retreiving of the ground tackle.
A very tastefully done forward accommodation area has been completed with a Beautiful Shipwright Timber Fitout offering a lounge area with two private double cabins and a head and bathroom. This area is fully air-conditioned and hosts ample storage.
The refurbished wheelhouse provides, excellent views and a large sea or additional double berth and again ample storage.
A staircase aft from the wheelhouse accesses the galley, lounge area and second full head and bathroom.
Fully splined dry vessel.

The list goes on, while in some cases people are attracted to "clapped out old tired lightweight commercial vessels" with the view to converting them, what we know is the Wilson's Voyager is not one of those, she is a robustly built platform weighing close to 60 tonnes that has been professionally upgraded and is now presented to the market at a very realistic price. To build from scratch expect to spend $2 - $3m AUD and wait three years, if you were lucky enough to find a similar lightly used platform to commence your dream conversion expect to spend between $1 - $1.5m AUD and wait at least 12 - 18 months, the discerning buyer with a vision will easily understand and appreciate the value presented here today and the ability to cruise now.
