" Blue Water " is roughly a 1982 Bertram 35 flybridge offering a huge cockpit space ideal to entertain with the family under an extended aft awning complete with a full set of wrap around covers extending you nigh time space. Set up a table, fire up the BBQ and entertain in your favourite bay or spend time with the kids playing uno watching the sun slide below the horizon. This was the boat to have back in the day and is a testament to the build quality of these older boats.

Twin sliding Saloon doors open onto a spacious internal cabin area with clean and bright colour schemes. Plenty of head room available with ample natural light flooding in through Saloon windows. A dinette to Port a perfect meal area for the young family and it wouldn't take much to alter this to a further small berth if needed with a large lounge to starboard converting to a double berth. A set of breezeays wrap around the Saloon windows for additional protection and privacy when holding a mooring at Rotto. A small Galley to the Port side has the basics covered with Sink, Micro and fridge while the current family opt to carry out all cooking activities on the rear BBQ

Heading down the companionway and things look a little different to the standard layout. At some stage in the life of the boat the Port side bunks have been converted to a huge storage facility with lockers and draws. You cant have enough storage on a boat is the normal catch cry and this example has that nailed down very nicely. A Queen sized berth in the bow will have you sliding off to sleep with the gentle lap of the water on the hull with storage below for all your daily boating needs and like a blast from the past the starboard side head facility with Jabsco toilet and separate shower recess has stood the test of time. It reminds me of the early days of boating at Rotto when things just seemed easier on the water.

Back out onto the rear deck and up we go to the fly bridge via the Port side ladder. Typical of the vintage the Fly Bridge back in the 80's was a place to just drive the boat from ! Not as spacious as the current Fly Bridge layouts you have a triple set of helm seats, outstanding vision, Lowrance electronics and a brace of gauges. Its simple, to teh point and functional. A decent set of clears wraps around teh fly bridge with teh ability to roll up for additional air flow. If the need arose you have a twin station set up so the boat could be driven from the Saloon, something my father always had in his boats but rarely if ever used.

Powered by a pair of Mercruiser 7.4 V8 petrol shaft driven engines thats seem ctidy enough with the limited room I had to get into the engine bay. Hours are unfortunately not available as the hour meters are not a true representation of the actual hours. She has twin 600 lt tanks onboard but is currently only operating on the forward tank. All tanks are operational but a suggestion to flush the rear tank might be a good idea as it has not been used for some time.

The current family have only had the boat for around 18 months, boating in this size of boat is just not for them preferring a smaller trailerable boating package. They gave it a try !
