Boston Whaler 110 Tender 1999 Repowered

Boston Whaler 11 Tender

Genuine 1999 11'4" Tender (3.5m) in vgc, original gelcoat and unmolested. Not perfect but outstanding for its age.

Amazingly stable, dry and the usual Boston Whaler unsinkable.

On a perfect and now well set up trailer, the trailer is slightly oversized and tows very easily, so easy to back.

Have the original tender interior as templates but would need re-making. For me it meant sitting too low for the long haul so I prototyped a raised seat bench including upholstered swivelling chairs which is far more usable and enjoyable for this old sea dog. Seating positions for 1up or 2up.

Brand new 2025 model Tohatsu 20hp MFS20E 4 stroke, approx 10 hours use, stainless prop of the right pitch plus spare alloy prop. Manual tilt, manual start, tiller version in short shaft. Great power choice for this hull.

Measured speed 2 up is 41kmh, 1 up is 43kmh and you'll surely weigh far less than me.

Fuel burn roughly 7km per litre at full noise, 12L tank. I did a Lismore to Coraki test return (73km) in 2 hours for just under 10L on the alloy prop, the stainless prop will be better.

Hard to beat the economy!

Pretty much fish a day for less than a cup of coffee... Unless you are like me and want to do lots of exploring between bites.

5 year engine warranty commencing May 2025 if it is dealer serviced, first service is due August. 3 year warranty if you service it yourself.

Trailer has 9 months NSW rego, boat has 11 months.

Excellent toy, stable enough to stand up in. Light enough to beach, fast enough to get there. Always safe.

Had it over at Tipplers recently in a good Westerly, it was a safe dry ride on the plane running side on to the breeze and slop along the broadwater, did not get wet at all.

Brilliant boat for its size, amazing ride in conditions that if in a tinnie would really make you wish you stayed home.

Available separately and supplied loose genuine parts being a new remote control fitting kit (no controls or cables, just the outboard bits), drag arm and 12 amp alternator kit to suit the 20hp all nib.

I was setting it up for a 2k km Murray river camping trip but sadly plans have changed. Also planned to run it out to Lady Musgrave, up the inside of Fraser and out into the bay cause it can.

So many places.. So little time! Despite the size this is a boat you can do those dreams on!

Wanted a battery to run a fridge and it proved fitting an alternator was cheaper plus more reliable than solar, didn't want to tiller steer the Murray frankly.

The parts I have to suit converting the 20hp to remote controls are an additional $700, a saving of $150 on retail.

Can point you at a source for a truly great fibreglass centre console if you want to go that direction. Would cost about $1800 plus your time including the console, steering and controls depending on choices, could do it cheaper if you don't mind non-brand parts and there are always far uglier and cheaper consoles to choose from. I can make you one in ply, always an option.

As is it would make for an excellent Gold Coast boat and exploring the islands and rivers. Or on the harbour and around the Hawkesbury and Pittwater.

Throw your safety gear onboard and go boating confidently from get go. Cheap to run and simple - go boating instead of fixing.

Oh bonus! - no inflatable tubes to perish, go flat or puncture on you... And no bilge pump to drain your battery, indeed you don't need a battery or a bilge pump at all.

Own at least one Boston Whaler in your life and discover why! This is my 4th.
