In WA, whenever someone hears the name Caribbean or Bertram they automatically think "Great sea boat", even if they have never been to sea on one. The brand is legendary.

And if you're chasing a vessel with the reputation for a very large rear deck, then again the Caribbean name speaks for itself. Include three spacious cabins, ducted reverse cycle airconditioning, refrigeration resembling that of a small superyacht, then you have one of the most desired craft for local waters.

Typical of the Caribbean brand, Cocos is equipped with overflow accommodation consisting of a saloon lounge which converts to a bunk bed. Combined with the three cabin layout you can easily sleep two families if you have to.

A locally designed custom hard top over the cockpit provides an upper level or 'Skylounge', ideal for private sunbathing, sunset drinks or toy storage. It also provides ample shade for the deck below. This, combined with the semi-enclosed fibreglass flybridge produces another living and entertaining space out of the wind - somewhere for perhaps the kids to hang out.

Helm chairs for the skipper and co-pilot are within easy reach of the Raymarine navigation equipment. Vision is panoramic. Ahead of the helm is more seating for guests or family in what is a very sociable layout.

The saloon features leather lounges, teak dining table, gloss cherrywood cabinetry and beige vinyls typical of the era. Unlike other brands, the galley is on the same level as the saloon and includes loads of benchspace, Granicoat fibreglass surfaces, above and below counter storage, microwave oven and dishwasher. There is enough eutectic refrigeration between the galley and cockpit to store a months supply of food and grog - perrfect for an Abolhos trip!

Of course once you arrive at your favourite destination, the 3.6m Brig stored on the bow can be quickly and easily deployed.

A lazarette storage compartment below the cockpit floor has ample space for fenders, outboards, BBQ's, dive tanks, deck chairs and more - it like the Tardis.

A little further foward and under the saloon floor of course is the main plant room. Twin Caterpillar C12's shaft drive engines have Cocos leaping out of the hole to a 32 knot sprint speed in moments. Quite exhilarating!! Cruisair airconditioning systems, Onan genset, watermaker and sanitation systems surround these beasts in what is a fairly accessible area.

For the fisherman there are a dozen or so rod holders both on the rear of the extended flybridge for storage and around the cockpit combing for action.

The teak cockpit floor is in excellent condition and the swimboard teak was recently replaced. A recent polish, engine service and interior detail has her looking fantastic and ready for the summer ahead.

Cocos is the only Caribbean 47 currently available for sale in the country today so don't hesitate if you're in the market. At approximatley $2mill replacement, she represents excellent value for money.
