Description: Clipper 40 CLIPPER 38 40 FT INC DUCKBOARD
Clipper 38 Flybridge cruiser
BACK ON THE MARKET.... For a genuine reason. The recent buyer was looking mainly for a place to live... However after owning the boat for a short few weeks, a life long back injury has re emerged, to where he is too incapacitated to use the boat
Serato has just been slipped / antifouled and prop speeded
I have checked the bottom for blisters and the hull is in very good condition.
Starboard skeg bearing has recently been replaced showing nil movement.
Port bearing showing minimal movement, so lots of life left in the port side gear.
Both props in very good condition.
Both prop shaft stuffing boxes have been serviced and re packed.
The rudders have been increased in size to make this a more responsive vessel at sea. Those who are familiar with these boats will know that this makes a big difference to the comfort level in following conditions.
Also muck better for manoeuvring and berthing.
FULL KEEL WITH RUNNING GEAR PROTECTED
Around ten years ago the two engines were removed and upgraded. The old steel tanks were removed and two new stainless tanks were fitted with a total capacity of 1400 litres. THAT is a big and important job out of the way.
The engines are original and have only done circa 3000 hours since original install. The vessel was owned by a diesel mechanic prior to this recent sale, and it is obvious that the engine room maintenance has been kept up to date.
Recent works include removal of the heat ex changers for servicing. Removal and servicing of the sea water pumps.
Upgrading of the battery monitoring and charging system.
The bilges are clean and the engine bay is in clean and painted condition.
The interior is in good condition for a vessel of its age, with the teak still in presentable and usu able condition.
The decks have had work done to them, and are in serviceable condition.
Bronze opening port holes in good condition
Venetian blinds fitted in the saloon.
Starboard opening door at the helm position for easier berthing.
Hydraulic steering ram removed and serviced by Gateway hydraulics.
There is a massively constructed set of custom alloy davits to handle the alloy tender. They are constructed so the tender is hig enough to see under when at anchor or when manoeuvring in a marina. This is a great system and tender set up for those who enjoy their fishing and crabbing.
15 HP two stroke outboard on an 11 ft alloy tender.
So in summing up what do we have. A very honest and mechanically sound twin diesel flybridge cruiser with tanks replaced, and with a very presentable interior.
The boat is ready to use and cruise now.
The rudder /tanks and engine upgrades make this good value, and the hull is in sound condition.
Twin engines for reliability at sea.
This is an ideal entry level vessel for a young family or for a single bloke who enjoys his fishing. Or it would make an ideal live a board.
