This Cruisecat 40 - "Yoda", has had only two owners - both cared for it lovingly.
The first owner having a lifetime of boating experience was heavily involved in the ultimate hull design and cabin(s) layout. "Yoda" has been crafted and factory built by Cruisecat.
Unique for a Cruisecat 40, this boat has a beam of 6 m where the standard Cruisecat is only 5 metres. As well as providing substantial cabin space, more importantly, this extra width delivers a very stable platform with excellent seagoing qualities, as required to venture offshore with extreme confidence.
The sedan style offers the advantages of the helm area being inside, out of the weather and allows very 'social' cruising.
There is over 2 metres of headroom throughout the boat, which makes the one-level main cabin area very airy and well lit, ventilated via opening windows (side and helm), and providing a surprising amount of storage area (including a full size pantry).
Easy engine access is provided via v660ahia large lift up hatches in the rear deck. Water and Fuel Tanks are also readily accessible.
Not to be left out, the "man's shed" is accessible from the rear deck and stores all the tools, fishing rods and "bits" needed for extended cruising.
"Yoda" has never been idle; cruising for up to 5 - 6 months every year, mostly North of Brisbane.
We purchased "Yoda" in April 2023 at Tin Can Bay Marina and travelled down to the NSW coast and explored Lake Macquarie for about a year before venturing down to Sydney/Cowan Creek/Hawksbury River etc.
This year we had a 5 month, fantastic cruising holiday up to the Whitsundays area.
A short notice, non-stop 336 Nautical Mile return run home, from Yeppoon down the outside of Fraser Island demonstrated just how seaworthy and reliable this vessel is.
On this years trip to Whitsundays (Including the dash home) we travelled 1376 Nautical Miles and averaged 1.84 litres/NMile overall.
"Yoda" is moored at Newport (on Morton Bay) and can be inspected by appointment only.
Maintenance, features and Upgrades
We have employed only licensed tradesmen at Boatworks and other such yards to carry out routine maintenance - very fussy with oils, Zincs, water pump impellers etc.
A full refit of the instrumentation from Autopilot to Radar and everything in between was carried out in 2023.
In January 2025, Solar panels were replaced and expanded, there is now 1050 Watt Solar paired to Victron controllers.
All batteries (House and engine) were replaced Feb 2025 (House are 3 X 270AH Century)

Remarks
In this Cruisecat 40 we found everything we were searching for :
The check list included:-
Seaworthy
Excellent vision to the waterway from the living space
Yanmar engines
Walk around bed
Spacey showers
Very open living area
Large storage, etc. Etc.
All boxes ticked!
In it's earlier days, "Yoda" spent most of it's time cruising the Queensland coast from Brisbane to Cairns and out to the reef, Lady Musgrave etc.
During our time, we have been down the NSW coast as far as Sydney, explored Cowan Creek and the Hawksbury river, investigated all the bays in Lake Macquarie, crossed all the bars between Brisbane and Sydney, been out on Morton Bay (North and South) many times, and then we were over-awed by the magnificence of the scenery at Whitsundays and adjacent reef areas.
Reliable, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable.
