Ex Fishing Trawler

Joan Star is a 32' carvel planked timber trawler, built in Batemans Bay and launched in 1962. She fished the south coast waters for nearly 40 years and was highly regarded as a sea worthy and productive boat. Purchased by current owners in 2008 and refitted as a family cruiser, she has been extensively rebuilt from hull up whilst attempting to retain some of her classic trawler heritage. Hull and engine are original, whilst deck, cabin, water and electrics have been largely replaced. She is powered by a Detroit 130hp 2-stroke diesel that has run less than 50 hours since a complete rebuild. Cruising speed is 6kts, using approximately 3 litres per hour. Accommodation for 4 with twin v-berth and drop down saloon table. All of the hard work has been done, enjoy as is or continue improvements to your own requirements.
We have spent over $50k and put in many thousands of hours to bring this vessel back from the brink, and are reluctantly selling her due to changed circumstances.
If you're looking for a family boat, fishing platform or are just plain in love with timber trawlers, this boat will not disappoint.
