Description: Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht
Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD the 2004 Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht 'Valentine'.

The Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht is a renowned and iconic cruising yacht that has gained a solid reputation for its classic design, exceptional craftsmanship, and comfortable cruising capabilities. With a heritage dating back to the early 1960's, Grand Banks have consistently produced high quality vessels designed for long range cruising and liveaboard comfort.

'Valentine' boasts a traditional trawler-style profile that has remained largely unchanged over the years. Synonymous with Grand Banks designs, she features graceful sheer lines and a distinctive bow that contributes to keeping the decks dry and enhances seaworthiness. With a LOA of 47'5" (14.45m) and a draft of 4'2" (1.27m) 'Valentine' is an ideal choice for cruising our Australian waterways. The size of the vessel allows for a generous amount of space inside, ensuring comfortable living conditions while being a good size for easy handling. Her shallow draft opens up anchorage possibilities in some of the most idyllic locations.

Boarding 'Valentine' is a journey into timeless elegance and nautical charm. The interior of the yacht has been meticulously maintained, seamlessly blending classic maritime aesthetics with modern comforts. As you step onto the boat you are welcomed into a generously sized and inviting main saloon. The ambiance of the space exudes a sense of warmth and comfort, inviting you to unwind and relax.

The saloon has a bright and airy feel with an abundance of natural light streaming through the large Grand Banks signature windows also highlighting the intricate patterns within the finely varnished teak that adorns the cabin.

In the heart of the saloon, you will find a comfortable L-shaped Ultra-leather settee surrounding an expandable teak dining table to starboard and additional seating to port. This arrangement creates a perfect space for sharing meals, lazing back, or simply lulling the time away as you enjoy the water views.

On an evening the saloon is lit by a traditional brass lamp with a nautical atlas lampshade evoking a sense of nostalgia. This classic feature is thoughtfully complemented by the owners, who have added tasteful home furnishings that enhance the vessel's character.

Moving forward from the main saloon, situated portside is the strategic placement of the L-shaped galley. The beautiful teak wood is complemented by Corian bench tops giving the galley a light and fresh feel. Integration into the main saloon enhances the boat's entertaining capabilities enabling the host to remain part of the gathering, interacting with guests while preparing meals.

The galley is well-equipped featuring a four-burner Miele electric stove top with matching oven, ensuring the appointed chef onboard has the best cooking appliances and ample bench space to prepare culinary delights for family and guests. The galley also features an Eutectic 137L fridge as well as an Eutectic 137L freezer, and plenty of storage solutions allowing for efficient storage of food and beverages.

Situated opposite the galley to starboard is the lower helm station. Thoughtfully designed with a beautiful plush Ultra-leather bench seat offering a comfortable vantage point for navigating and piloting the boat. The visibility is excellent giving the captain a clear view. One of the standout features at the helm is the traditional Grand Banks steering wheel, yet another reminder of the Grand Banks charm.

The lower helm station of 'Valentine' is designed with careful consideration for functionality and navigation. The layout of the dash is well organised to accommodate the Raymarine electronics, ensuring the captain has all the necessary tools for safe and efficient navigation to hand. The electronics suite includes Raymarine HybridTouch MFD 12", Raymarine VHF, dual Raymarine i70 Multifunction, Raymarine Autopilot, Trim Tab displays, bow thruster control, Computank display and windlass panel. A door beside the helm station gives the skipper easy access to the wide side decks when required.

'Valentine' is a two-berth cabin layout with beautifully appointed accommodation, each cabin with their own ensuite facilities in the form of split head and shower room. The master suite is located aft and accessible by stairs from the main saloon. Featuring a queen-sized island bed surrounded by stunning teak, the large portholes allow sunlight to bounce off the white ceiling. The master suite has a desk and stool for those needing an onboard office offering a private space for business matters. There is plenty of shelving for books and ample cupboards and drawers for storage.

The VIP guest suite is positioned forward and accessed between the galley and helm station offering friends and family joining you overnight a private sanctuary of their own. The guest suite features a double-sized bed with a large hatch overhead so your guests can lie in bed and look up at the stars while gently bobbing at anchor.

'Valentine' has been designed with wide walk around teak decks. To access the flybridge, take a set of stairs from the spacious aft deck. The flybridge is a popular choice for entertaining and handling the vessel from this higher perspective. The controls are a duplication of the lower helm station. With spectacular panoramic views, the flybridge will become one of your favourite spaces onboard.

Up on the flybridge, the dual helm seats are protected by a bimini. The bridge console has engine screens, a stainless steel/timber steering wheel, plenty of storage and an L-shaped settee with Sunbrella upholstery to starboard surrounded by a table offering another space to spoil your guests for those long trips. In total, both the flybridge and aft deck can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, providing ample space for everyone to enjoy the journey.

Aft of the cockpit are davits to house the 3.35M AB AL11 RIB featuring a Tohatsu outboard at 18 HP.

The engine room is accessed via a hatch in the saloon floor. Her Twin Cummins 6BTA5.9-M3's at 330 HP each, power the boat to 16 knots at full throttle giving you the confidence to get out of harms way if necessary. 'Valentine' will be happiest when she is cruising at 10-12 knots promoting reliable performance and fuel efficiency. Fitted with a Side-Power Bow Thruster, makes her 43'3" even easier to maneuver in tight spaces taking the stress out of docking.

Entering the engine room you will be impressed by the amount of space there is to monitor and service engines, the Stella Watermaker and Onan 7KW generator. The all important Marine Air unit is also housed here, a welcome addition when cruising in the tropics and hot summer months.

'Valentine' is an absolutely stunning and affordable luxury boating opportunity; a beautiful boat for couples or families wanting comfort, reliability and style.
