WHY THIS VESSEL?
This Halvorsen 45 stands out as a true collector's cruiser. It is steeped in Australian maritime history and boasts comfort, reliability, and the authentic charm that only a handcrafted timber boat can offer. Initially commissioned for the Managing Director of GM Detroit Australia, it has a story and pedigree that few can match. Whether your dream is leisurely coastal cruising or enjoying weekends away with family and friends, this well-loved Halvorsen delivers safe, graceful performance and timeless appeal.
In 2001, the vessel underwent a carefully planned modification to extend the hull by 3 feet and professionally remove the original flybridge, transforming it into a sleek and practical sedan layout. This work was carried out under the direct consultation of master shipwright Cec Quilkey, with the build entrusted to a respected Queensland shipwright known for precision timber craftsmanship. The extension and flybridge removal were done to the highest standard, preserving the vessel's original lines and balance while enhancing its usability and value as a timeless classic cruiser.
