Hershine 52 Aft Cabin (aka Ensign 50)

A consummate family cruising motoryacht, the Hershine 52 is also known as the Ensign 50.

Many of it's aft cabin competitors suffer from being difficult to board due to a steep ladder to access the sundeck whereas this vessel benefits not only from the extended swim platform but also an easy curved staircase to the upper deck. The aft sundeck is large and features teak flooring in excellent condition, a wet bar with ice maker, clears all around in excellent condition and solid wing doors to the catwalks which, when closed keeps cold wind and rain out and when open allow a cool flowing breeze through the space on hot days. There is a short step up to the huge flybridge which has a commanding view forward, large Raymarine Plotter / Sounder, excellent clears all around and a hard top overhead and plenty of seating / lounging for guests. Behind is located the hard top over the aft deck which carries an aluminium tender with outboard and an electric davit crane.

A few short steps down from the sundeck is the beautifully finished saloon with high gloss timber cabinetry and decorative inserts, an L-shaped lounge with adjustable table to starboard and opposite is the entertainment cabinet containing TV, sound system and drinks / glasses. Large windows allow lots of natural light in and open to the cool breezes off the water but if required there is also air-conditioning throughout the boat.

Forward and on the same level at mid-ships is found the inside helm to starboard with large Raymarine Plotter / Sounder and opposite is the galley comprising of loads of bench space, storage, bar fridge, microwave oven, electric hotplate and dishwasher. Forward of the galley and just a couple of steps down is a huge walk-in pantry and a three door fridge / freezer.

Accommodation forward consists of a twin bunk cabin with porthole for light and air and a pullman style double berth in the bow, both served by the day head which has a toilet, vanity and full standing room separate shower cubicle. At the other end of the boat with complete privacy is the master cabin with a full size walk-around queen bed and its own en-suite bathroom, dressing table and built in TV cabinet which also hides a washer / dryer. The feel throughout is like that of a quality hotel room with luxury touches and finely finished timberwork, mirrors aplenty and sliding screens covering the portholes if so desired.

Access to the engine room is through the staircase in the lower forward section of the boat. All systems have good access and the twin Volvo D9's have been maintained and record just 300 hours. The 11Kva Generator has the capacity to run all the electrical systems onboard.
