The Hydra-Sports 2900 VX is a highly regarded American-built offshore fishing boat, with a deep-V fibreglass hull and a reputation for excellent ride quality, solid construction and offshore capability. At approximately 29ft, it provides a huge amount of usable space without stepping up into a much larger boat.

Powered by twin 2014 Suzuki 250hp four-strokes, it has plenty of power and redundancy for offshore work while still being easy to handle around the harbour.

The boat is well equipped for both fishing and family use. The large cockpit provides plenty of room for fishing, diving and entertaining, while the enclosed cabin makes overnight trips genuinely comfortable.

This has been a fantastic boat for us and is a very versatile setup. It is equally at home heading offshore fishing or spearfishing, cruising with the family, or spending a night or weekend aboard.

The 2900 VX is not particularly common in Australia and offers a lot of boat for the money compared with many locally available offshore cruisers of a similar size.
