You've found it! A beautiful turn-key vessel with established pedigree and a current owner who is serious about restoration. Lovingly refurbished since I took ownership, I've put hundreds of hours of work in my efforts to bring this beautiful 44 year-old back to her glory days and now she is ready for someone to take the helm and enjoy boating in an 80's classic.
Made for comfortable days and nights on the water, with well-known sea keeping capabilities, this Island Gypsy 32 is sure to impress. Hull number 10 and made in the Kong & Halvorsen shipyard in Hong Kong in 1982, she has a single engine with full keel protection of the running gear, which allows for secure cruising in shallower waters. With heaps of space around the engine, servicing is a breeze - no more "boat yoga" to change a filter or impeller. Those that know of the Halvorsen pedigree, know that these vessels are way ahead of the others in the pack and "Markeeta" is way ahead of any other Island Gypsy on the market today. Although she's listed as a 32', she comes closer to 36' with the swim platform and bowsprit. I currently have her berthed in a 12m pen and she fills it.
From her pristine brightwork to her practical layout including an offset double berth in the private front cabin and two separate double options in the saloon, she is ready to take you and several others out on the water in comfort for days on end. We're talking 950L of fuel and 450L of fresh water, plus a 4.5kwh genset and two fridges and a freezer to keep everything fresh for your journey. Sipping 8L per hour (1L per mile), you can take this girl to distant lands, or simply cruise your local waterways in style for days. Enough beds for 6 people, which means that those strays have a place to sleep in comfort, should you not make it back to your berth in time for them to depart. A sani-loo on board sanitation system is fitted, which is compliant with EPA standards, and that means there is no black-water tank, or gag-reflex pump outs required. An electric toilet and showers round out the amenities. Full walk around decks. High rails and grab rails make her very safe to get around on at all times.
Her galley-up design keeps your entertaining on one level and the generous cockpit and teak table gives you plenty of service area for the snacks and beverages that you will be serving your guests (or yourselves). Upstairs, the flybridge has seating for several to take in the sunrise, sundowners or sunset in style.
Markeeta has travelled extensively throughout Port Phillip Bay and into Bass Strait and I regularly stay on board for multi-day trips. She is no marina queen - she frequently gets out there on the water where she belongs.
This vessel can deal with anything you throw at her - you'll break before she does. The hull was "oz-chopped" some time ago to remove all osmosis, which as any discerning buyer would know is an issue which affects these older fibreglass vessels. Not Markeeta, she's clean and blister-free.

I have receipts and a detailed Excel spreadsheet for every dollar spent on her, as well as oil / transmission fluid sample test results and detailed maintenance and travel logs. Previous owners' receipts as well. I am a fastidious owner and often receive compliments on the condition of this vessel, with many people not believing that she is 44 years old.
The engine hours would be a lot less than is showing on the gauge (7116). I have made the mistake many times of leaving the ignition switch in the "on" position. This leaves the hour meter ticking away silently and I can only imagine previous owners have done the same thing. Every service, I have the oil and transmission fluid professionally tested through the Techenomics laboratory and the levels of wear do not suggest high engine hours. Engine oil and associated filters are changed every 200 hours and the injector pump oil is changed every 50 hours, as per manufacturer's specifications. That old thing never misses a beat. Starts from cold in a second - naturally aspirated classic Ford diesel. 120hp chugs along at 1500rpm at 7.5 knots, sipping 8L per hour, roughly a litre per nautical mile.
