Mariner 3800 MK II Flybridge

Honu is a fine example of the Australian built bluewater cruiser 3800 mk-11. Renowned for its robust build and spacious layout which makes these models popular for both families and sportsfishers. The 3800mk11 features a distinct wide body design that offers exceptional deck and cabin space. With a length of 11.58m and a beam of 4.4m and powered by the ever reliable caterpillar 3208 diesel engines with a whopping 375hp each can easily place this 11ton vessel on the plain with a top speed of approx 23knots. It boasts a fuel capacity of 1400l and water capacity of 400l and is capable of extended trips up and down the coast. The generator is a onan 12kva marine generator which is more than ample to run the systems aboard and maintaining extended stays aboard.
A few things that feel is a must on all cruisers is 1, diesel. 2, shaft drives. 3, hard top flybridge and this ticks all 3 boxes plus the vessel has been fitted with a fully enclosed back deck and flybridge for when the weather turns bad. Flybridge is fitted with a Raymarine electronics axiom 9" sounder gps, auto pilot system. The other thing i liked about the mk11 is the flybridge flows as it is easily walked around with surround seating and with no obstructions. Their is 3x 120 watt solar panels fitted to the roof monitored by a morning star controller management system. Also fitted is a remote controlled spot light for ease of vision in hard to see environments.
Both 3208 Caterpillar engines are in excellent condition and have been meticulously maintained and recent works completed have included preventative maintenance repairs such as a complete service on both engine and transmissions, recent flush of cooling system coolers and impeller replacements. These engines kick over as soon as the key is turned, run smooth and sound great and have no issues and sitting at 1685 original hours each. The engines have separate starter battery's and 2 house battery's which can be all combined for emergency starts if required.
Downstairs includes 2 cabins 1 double bunk cabin and the other the main room with island bed, both rooms are fully air-conditioned and fitted with fans. The bathroom consists of a separate shower and an electric powered toilet flush system with approx 120l holding capacity. The electric hot water system runs off either shore power or generator and hot water can be supplied from a hot water exchanger set up off the port engine. The kitchen is blessed with space and great layout which includes a 240/12v fridge, microwave and electric cook tops. A webber bbq is also supplied that fits on the back duck board handrail to make a great backdrop when cooking. This boat is truly set up for extended stays with comfort.
A highfield tender is professionally mounted to the fore-deck fitted with a 5hp Tohatsu in good condition which is launched and retrieved with a ADC 200kg davit winch to enable trips to shore or exploring shallower waters an ease.
Honu has only had 3 owners that im aware of and started out in Pittwater back in the late 80, s as Titon and then made the trip north to Qld Manly region where it became honu and is now located in Lake Macquarie. I personally bought the vessel down the coast and it was a good test to see for myself how well they handle the open blue waters.
There is nothing to spend on the vessel it is in turn key condition and has just recently been anti fouled and insurance surveyed that the prospective buyer can use. Their is a lot of items ive no doubt not mentioned as it is well equipped but willing to answer any questions that you may have, the reason we are selling is due to lack of use, my kids are playing sport 10 months of the year now and i work every second weekend and then throw in the weather conditions it doesn't leave us with alot of quality time to spend on her.
