Mews Converted Cray Boat

Purchased in 2012 taken back to bare wood with repairs by Steve Ward Boat Builder and Painting by Exclusive in 2 pack. Ply over jarrah frame in good condition. Solid vessel strongly buily for Abrohlos fishing and designed to nudge reef without dmage - converted to a pleasure craft by prior owner. Boat was a partnership (2 engineers with families) kids are older so time to move on. Majority of boat/systems have been re-worked. Hull was professionally glassed at last haul out May 25 with hull repaint (over glass) with new antifoul - photo's of sequence included. 20 knots WOT but around 16/17 sensible cruise and will do 13-14 knots comfortably in heavy seas outperforming most boats without a keel. Safe and Seaworthy craft. Fully enclosed prop with steel protected keel/rudder - 1000 l diesel tanks using 40-50 l/hr at cruise gives long range.

Mechanical: Volvo TAMD 24V 475 HP 1668 hrs (these are bullet proof engines expect 5000+ hrs). Engine removed 2023, new engine mounts, heat exchangers serviced, engine repaint, new sump, new dripless seal to shaft, gearbox serviced. Shaft and tube new, prop in good condition. All external and engine anodes replaced May 25. New 2 stage fuel filter system. Turbo and Exhaust serviced. New twin ally fuel tanks 500 + 500l 2018, new water tanks (300+150) 2018. Steering rebuilt with new hardware, Hyd ram, piping and pump service. All by Precision Engineering.

Electrical: 2 banks of 2 large batts recent new, new 2000W invertor 800W Solar, genset removed (never needed). All lighting LED incl new deck /rear spot lights. Shore power with charger (not used as solar does job). TMD Toilet (new macerator) with greywater switching to tank with overboard pump out (legal rotto sys). Brand new Maxwell oversized winch 60 m short link chain + 20kG Lewmar Anchor. New foot controls to windlass. New Dometic fridge. Hot water system heat exchange.

Rear Deck: Recent new cork to entire rear deck by Clive Thomas. Rear transom cutout (with foam/fibreglass insert- never used) for dinghy or jetski retrievel/carry with hand winch and skid system (see photo's). Fully shaded rear area with clears and shade cloth near new on HD stainless frame. Large built in Esky will hold ice for 5+days. Numerour rod holders. Duckboard timber recent replaced. Outboard bracket for 15hp. Huge entertaining area has hosted 40+. Jestski not included - dinghy negotiable. Bathroom off rear deck - simple reliable with pull out shower and window block out - no wet area/ odour in boat.

Interior: Decking in Maritimo sheets. All seats recently re-upholstered with large table (seating 8) converting to king sized bed. Galley is practical and has a 2 burner stove with grill (mostly cook on bbq) - ample storage. 10 kG gas bottle with isolator system in vented box adjacent esky. Sleeping forward comprises double (port) and 2 bunks (starb) with a sliding divider + insert cushions to make beds larger, additional large side berth. Pers lights to all berths. King sized roof top box on roof with roof racks for toys. 9 berths total. Numerous fire extinguishers and full safety gear (14 life jackets, flares, and EPIRB). Recent upgrade (May25) Garmin touchscreen GPS with thru hull high gain sounder - old GPS used a backup.

Boat name is Kailani which means 'Heavens and Oceans' in Polynesian. Very solid vessel capable of extended offshore passaging. Large amount of money spent over the years with everything done properly such that the boat is 'ready to go' and as good a rotto boat as you will find. Being able to use 12 m moorings is a huge advantage plus safely access all the hard to get at spots. Full survey May 2025 by Weaver Marine availabe on request. New boat coming so need to move her on.
