Mustang 3800 Limited Edition Sportscruiser - New engines installed 2012
With plans to keep the Mustang for a few years, her current owners made a significant investment in repairs and maintenance on this beautiful 'Limited Edition' Mustang 3800. The Work included soda blasting the hull, fitting new manifolds and elbows, updating the tender, and much more. It is an excellent opportunity to buy a vessel with little, if anything, left to spend. Driving the Mustang 3800LE is sure to put a smile on your face. This Australian designed and built luxury sports cruiser is lively, with a wide beam and a layout that suits the Australian lifestyle very well. It is a real shame they are no longer in production, as very little in today's market comes close.
The hull is a true deep V, which parts the water for a smooth and relatively dry ride. That makes her especially comfortable when crossing the Rottnest channel. This particular Mustang was repowered in 2012 with brand new Volvo Penta 5.7L engines, along with new Duoprop stern drives and gauges. Her Kohler genset is also barely run in, with only 208 hours.
This Limited Edition was the higher priced model in the 3800 range, and it includes ducted air conditioning, gloss cherry cabinetry throughout, and teak on the swim platform as standard.
A queen size amidships berth runs across the boat, which in my view is one of the most comfortable ways to sleep aboard. A large integrated swim platform is ideal for storing a tender and is big enough for a few deck chairs as well. The current owner also installed a stainless steel rail to support a BBQ and inflatable.
I delivered this Mustang new in 2004, and I am delighted to present her for sale once again.
