Pacific Motoryachts - Stunning classic looking long range cruiser

Every now and then, we get the chance to sell a boat like 'Lizzi'. She's a one-off design, believed to have been created by naval architect Gary Hewson and built by Pacific Yachts. Her hull is ply with a fibreglass exterior, giving her a strong, low-maintenance finish. Based on her overall condition, she appears to have been built to a particularly high standard.

As you can see, she has lovely lines, and the varnished timber interior gives her a classic feel, much like the well-known Grand Banks brand, but without the price tag.

the hull is very roomy. Her high freeboard creates excellent headroom and a real sense of space throughout the cabins. Boats of this length would usually have three cabins, but with Lizzi, they chose fewer berths and more room throughout.

Her current WA owner fell in love with her when she was listed for sale in Tasmania. He bought her and then sailed her under her own power west to Fremantle across the Bight.

She is powered by a single 230HP MAN diesel shaft-drive engine, delivering an impressive range of about 2500 nautical miles at around 8 knots. To make handling in tight spaces easier and more user-friendly, she also has bow and stern thrusters.

There are two steering helms. The flybridge is ideal when the weather is good or when you want better visibility to explore new anchorages or pick your way through coral bommies. The lower helm is a great place to get out of the cold. A side door gives you quick access to the deck if you're short-handed.

Her rear deck is a practical size and includes seating, storage, a gas BBQ, and a huge chest fridge. Below deck in the lazarette, you'll find the genset, along with plenty of room for water toys, spares, fenders, and lines.

A transom door leads out to a hinged timber and stainless swimboard. Electric davits hold an inflatable tender above the water and neatly out of the way.

I can easily picture myself owning Lizzi and cruising to the Abrolhos and beyond. She's a low-maintenance boat with real character, simple systems, and a long cruising range.
