If you are in the market for a Riviera 40 FB then this is a must to view with its overall length measuring the same as the Riviera 40 offshore with an ISO hull length based upon the highly respected and popular Riviera Offshore 4000 hull. The biggest difference from other 3850's on the market is found in the heart of the boat, the engine room. Fitted with the larger, more powerful twin TAMD 74P EDC 480hp in line 6-cylinder turbo Volvo engines with electronic controls (EDC), these are the same engines as the Riviera 40 and provide a combined extra 220hp over most 3850's that are only powered with twin 370hp engines.
Originally spec'd out for the concerning US market, the twin TAMD74P EDC engines have only 610hrs & are paired with ever reliable twin disc gearboxes. The engines are in excellent condition & have been regularly serviced & maintained by Volvo trained technicians. She cruises effortlessly at 20-22 knots @ 2200rpm or if you really want to get to your destination a top speed of 32 knots.
With easy engine room access with plenty of space to get around both engines the highlights keep coming, you will also find a bigger 8.5Kva Kohler genset with approx. 730hrs that provides amble power to run both Cruise-air aircon units and other essential 240v electronics when needed, including the new eutectic 240v Copeland refrigeration system and twin Cruise-air air-conditioning units.
Spec'd with 4x heavy duty, deep cycle 12v batteries (2x house, 2x start) + separate 12v battery for the genset, all connected to the 330w solar system with a 40amp Rover solar controller, you can be ensured they are always kept fully charged and the galley fridge full of cold drinks.
An additional engine room safety feature includes a Seafire automatic fire control system, additional hand held fire extinguisher, rear cockpit fuel cut off and 2 epirp units for safety. There is also a freshwater tap in the engine room making small engine bilge washdowns easy.
