Up for sale is our Rogers designed Power Catamaran which was built from the ground up to have outboards on the rear making it a very unique cruising verssel. Bilgola was built from the ground-up as a power boat (never sail). Her low-hours outboard engines offer excellent fuel economy as well as engineering simplicity. Â Bilgola is a displacement hull, cruising comfortably at 5-7 knots (using 5-7 litres total per hour at this speed). 5000 rpm will give you 11 knots.
Bilgola ("swirling waters") has been the perfect boat for us to foray into our 'big boat' dreams, from both a price-point perspective, as well as learning about comfortable life on the water. With 2 small doubles and 2 singles, and an incredibly-roomy port-side shower/bathroom, Bilgola also offers a lovely open saloon area on the main deck, with outside covers for her starboard, port and front windows. Her starboard-side galley is equipped with gas cooktop and grill, sink, and a Brass Monkey 65 litre fridge/freezer. Her gas hot-water system allows for lovely warm winter showers, and her recently-added watermaker - producing 25 litres per 17 minutes - allows for some extra shower indulgence for those chilly nights or extra-salty play-days.
Bilgola is very cheap to run and maintain, just drive to where you want, drop the anchor close to the beach and relax. If you are sitting for a few days out there just lift the motors up out of the water. From the water line down construction is fiberglass. 5000 rpm will give you 11 knotts.
Since owning Bilgola, we've been particular about a few things - (1) ensuring her engines are washed after every use, and stored out of the salt (2) ensuring her engines are started regularly, even if not for a trip (3) ensuring her watermaker is used regularly and flushed regularly  (4) ensuring her hulls are cleaned on every trip (dive/snorkel).
We've grown quite fond of Bilgola, her lovely timber and brass features and paneling, and the many experiences and adventures she's given us, and as a direct result of this experience, we have decided to buy something that can take us further and faster.
If you're after a power cat with a very reasonable entry price-point, or perhaps are considering downsizing to a smaller, simpler boat, Bilgola could be the one for you.
