This Scimitar
Power Catamaran Flybridge Cruiser "Margay 2" is well maintained and highly capable. It has excellent stability, is economical and has a spacious layout. It has a wide beam of 5.0m and a low draft of 0.8m, which allows for great shallow anchorages. The fine-entry, semi displacement hull drastically reduces drag and wake.
The generous cockpit allows for entertaining, fishing and enjoying life on the water. A Weber BBQ has been added with new gas fittings installed. It has wide side decks and secure walkaround railings which leads forward to a very spacious foredeck. The flybridge offers amazing visibility and a mass of seating, also great for entertaining. It also has a massive amount of under seating storage. Located here is the crane for the dinghy, with wired remote control. There is also a portable generator, MXR3500, petrol.
The saloon provides panoramic viewing through large windows that provide great cross breezes and natural light. The large dinette seating provides a comfortable space to enjoy. The carpeting and upholstery is approximately 12 months old. The port side galley has a 3 burner Camec cooktop (12mths old), SMEV oven and microwave. It has a 190L Bushman fridge/freezer (6 mths old) with a large pantry cupboard. There is a double sink with hot/cold water along with a separate salt water rinse and plenty of storage. The saloon also has a large air conditioner.
The accommodation is generous with 2 double berths and 2 single berths which are practical and comfortable, with both double mattresses being between 6-12 mths old. It has an on deck head (new toilet unit Apr 26) & shower facilities with storage which are a great size.
It is powered by 2 Yanmar 125HP 4JH3-DTE diesel engines delivering a comfortable cruising speed of approx 13-15 kts and a top speed of approx 18 kts. It is very easy to manouvre and turns on a dime. Both engines have been fully serviced, new injectors and both intercoolers thoroughly cleaned as of May 26. The port engine had a new turbo installed in October 25 and the starboard engine has a new turbo installed as of June 26. Both engines are fresh water flushed.
