An expansive flybridge, a three-stateroom layout and twin Cummins diesels give Vixen II the space and equipment for weekends away on the Gippsland Lakes. The flybridge has seating around the helm, bimini and clears, and a staircase down to the foredeck. At the stern, a swim platform and ladder make getting back aboard straightforward.
Below, the raised dinette and breakfast bar give the saloon two places to gather. Gloss cherry cabinetry and granite benchtops frame the galley, and refrigeration is fitted in both the main living area and the flybridge. The forward stateroom has an island bed, and the privately accessed aft cabin has a full-length bed and a built-in washer/dryer. Two VacuFlush heads have separate shower stalls.
Twin Cummins QSL9 diesels drive conventional shafts through ZF V-drives. The hour meters showed 620 port and 619 starboard. The flybridge helm has autopilot, a bow thruster and VHF radio. Onboard systems include a diesel generator, heating and air conditioning, and an electric anchor winch with a Delta-style primary anchor and a secondary anchor.
The VHF powered up when checked, and the bilge pumps and float switches were assessed as satisfactory. The anchor light did not power up.
