Thomascraft 43 Flybridge

Polaris is a 43 ft Thomascraft owned by the Principle of Echo Yachts, Mark Stothard and as such has been fully rebuilt using all the resources available to him at Echo Yachts.

Mark has purchased another vessel of similar vintage as his next project, so an opportunity presents itself for a discerning buyer to take advantage of the improvements done to Polaris, as the vessel is now up for sale.

The vessel is currently located at Fremantle Sailing Club in Pen G1b and for those who know the club, there are not many pens in a better position as it is just outside the clubroom. Mark owns the pen and can offer the new owner an annual lease of the pen or an outright purchase.

Polaris was built in 1998, and Mark purchased the vessel back in 2013.

Since then, Polaris has undergone extensive and ongoing refit and improvement.

Improvements include:

o Full repaint by Exclusive Coatings with Awl Grip, Superyacht paint.
o Both main engines (Cummins C series 450hp) replaced with Cummins Factory reconditioned engines, which have done 290 hours since.
o The engine room was degreased and rubbed back and finished off with 2 pack paint, so its really easy to keep clean.
o Both gearboxes were overhauled at that time.
o Both exhaust mixers were replaced, and new GRP mufflers were installed. Exhaust rubbers were also replaced.
o New SS sea suction strainers were installed.
o The Onan 7 KVA genset had a top end overhaul at the same time as the main engine swap.
o All moonlight hatches were replaced.
o Both aluminium fuel tanks were replaced.
o Both SS water tanks were replaced with welded plastic tanks and a 5 micron filter was installed.
o Polaris also has an Outbacks comms 12 volt Starlink set up, so it does not reboot between switching from Genset to Invertor.
o A new 12mm Teak deck was installed to the aft deck.
o Flybridge clears and upholstery were replaced about 1 year ago.
o A Stella desalination system was installed.
o A Raytheon GPS sounder was installed with a new UHF.
o A new Fusion stereo was installed.
o More recently an LG smart TV was installed in the lounge and a Samsung Smart TV was installed in the master bedroom.
o The Galley had a full make over with Ceasar Stone black tops and new Teak veneer with new microwave and induction 2 burner cooktop.
o More recently Amtico Vinyl flooring has been installed throughout the vessel.
o Both the flybridge biminy and the aft awning have been replaced from vinyl to fibreglass.

Top speed of 25 knots and cruise at 20 knots at 2100 rpm and it will tow a 6.5m RIB at that speed as well. Fuel burn is around 360 litres for 3 trips to Rottnest including running the genset.
