Welcome aboard this beautiful Amel Santorin "Marin". From the design board of Amel & Carteaus and built by Amel in France, this yacht has a pedigree that other brands can only aspire to have. When an Amel sails into a new port, those who know question not only 'where has it come from?' but where it is going, because an Amel is one of the finest and most trusted voyaging yachts in existence. Amel owners are discerning people; they want the security that a brand such as Amel affords, knowing that there are four watertight doors plus a collision bulkhead and the safety of the centre cockpit.
Moving from the comfortable centre cockpit into the saloon, you immediately know that you are on an Amel with the timber features and the purposeful design that is as usable at sea as she is when entertaining your friends and family. From the companionway to port, there is an L-shaped galley with all the amenities a French chef could ask for. To starboard, there is an excellent navigation station. Forward again is a large saloon with an L-shaped settee and a beautiful table on the Port side, and a settee with a sea berth on the starboard side. There is an abundance of storage throughout the saloon and galley. Ahead of the saloon, there is a bathroom to port and a hanging locker to starboard, followed by a large V-berth that can be arranged as twin beds or a large double. Travelling aft from the saloon, you walk through a roomy passage to the owner's stateroom with an ensuite and a whole lot more storage. If I were to describe the internal proportions of this Amel Santorin in one word, it would be 'generous'.
On deck, the Amel Santorin is a treat; you walk up the transom steps and over the large aft cabin, noting the Santorin advantage of the sloop rig and not the Super Maramus ketch rig, as the decks are clear and spacious. The cockpit is deep and secure, with the Amel forward steering position and helmsman's chair under the fibreglass dodger; it could be blowing 40 outside, yet it feels like 20 inside. The cockpit floor lifts to reveal the huge engine and machinery room; this is a wonderful Amel feature, as it is soundproofed from the accommodation and hides all of the pumps and systems that you hear in vessels that are not Amels.
