Arber Soueaster 33 Shawn Arber Soueaster 10m

Scimitar J was built by Jan Breckwoldt and launched in 2000 and is the little sister to "The Boss" "Shazam" and "Wind Cheater".

We had hoped that my wife would be ready to go cruising soon, but looks like she will be working for another couples of years, hence, we sadly listing the boat.
We've sailed the boat down from Brisbane to Shell Harbour NSW and I will begin sailing it back up to QLD after Easter.

We were attracted to this boat due to it's construction; foam, fibreglass and reinforced with kevlar in key areas. We have been stung with costly repairs on boats with even a small amount of timber sandwiched in between fibreglass in the past.

She has amazed us with her stability and speed, regularly hitting mid and sometimes high teens, 19.1 knots has been our record so far.
We have also been very impressed with how well the boat points to wind, and have not had any issues with slamming, despite being caught heading into surprise Southerly gales and two surprise Westerlies gusting 50 knots 7 miles off shore. Perhaps the cowling in-front of the leg assists with this.

The hulls are very narrow at the waterline with large chimes to give more space up above whilst keeping the boat very quick through the water.

We have a survey available to share from 17/10/24. We believe this is when the boat was last antifouled, growth is still minimal.

The standing rigging was replaced in 2024.
29hp Yanmar 3YM30AE diesel engine and Sonic leg MK2 2016 installed in 2016 by Multihull Marine, currently just over 1300 hours.
2pac polyurethane re paint 2021 by Multihull Marine
2 large cabins forward, a quarter berth in the port hull and a separate aft cabin in the starboard hull.
The boat is currently registered in NSW until 2/10/26 and now has HIN plates for NSW and QLD.
I'm 6'3 and the low headroom in the saloon (1.35m) has not been an issue for me, especially with the doors on both sides of the cockpit and huge headroom in the hulls (1.9m+).
