Askold 48 is a 18.6-metre traditional-style sailing vessel designed as a maritime leisure craft inspired by the Dutch "herren-yachts" of the 17th-18th centuries. Built in 2008 at a shipyard in Karelia, the vessel features a wooden hull constructed from selected pine with a single-layer carvel planking over a laminated longitudinal and transverse frame system.
