"Equanimity" a Bavaria 34 Cruiser, is the family cruiser with a big boat feel. This delightful, easily handled coastal cruising yacht performs efficiently at sea under sail or motor. The rig is simple (sheets and halyards are managed from the cockpit). The cockpit, sheltered by a spray dodger and bimini is deep and roomy with a fold-leaf table (incorporating an icebox) and a pedestal helm with a full array of instruments. The transom opens/closes electrically. When open, it provides a substantial boarding/swim platform. A fresh-water-cooled Volvo-Penta diesel provides all the power needed to punch the chop. Below deck, this fine vessel is full of surprises. The superb mahogany timber fit-out for a start. Then there is the spacious saloon incorporating a full-service galley, a dinette and a nav desk. There are two private cabins (berths for up to six persons including the saloon berths) and a large bathroom with a shower. Below the deck, the mahogany fit-out is striking. The large deck hatches, opening upper side ports plus lower ports provide ample light and ventilation. Aft to port is a private double cabin. Immediately forward is the galley. To the starboard of the companionway is the big bathroom (incorporating the shower). The fully equipped navigation station is forward of the bathroom. The dinette has nicely upholstered settees around the big dining table (with a folding leaf). The settees also make for comfortable occasional berths. Forward of the bulkhead is another good-sized private double cabin. There is plenty of storage over and under sufficient for extended cruises.
