"SOFALA" is a well-proven, New Zealand-designed and built coastal cruising yacht by renowned designer BRIN WILSON, offering exceptional quality and value in a capable 37-footer. Her pedigree shows in every aspect of her performance and construction--she has confidently crossed the Tasman Sea and remains a lively, rewarding yacht to sail, easily holding her own in club racing while remaining comfortable and forgiving for cruising.
The hull is built in GLASS-SHEATHED TRIPLE-DIAGONAL KAURI, a method renowned for its strength, longevity, and offshore credibility. Teak-laid decks, including the cockpit seating, add both durability and classic appeal. A davit frame supports an inflatable dinghy and carries twin solar panels, enhancing self-sufficiency at anchor.
Below decks, the accommodation is thoughtfully designed with excellent use of space and HIGH-QUALITY TEAK CABINETRY THROUGHOUT. Two quarter berths are located aft, while the well-appointed galley sits to port opposite a practical navigation station. Amidships, the dinette features comfortable settees seating six, both of which convert to additional berths. Forward, a private double cabin and a bathroom with hot and cold shower complete a layout that balances comfort with functionality.
Power comes from an EXTREMELY RELIABLE AND ECONOMICAL 35HP KUBOTA DIESEL, well matched to the vessel and known for its longevity.
Offered at $39,500, Sofala represents an outstanding opportunity to own a professionally designed and built New Zealand yacht of genuine pedigree--strong, capable, and well-finished--at a price point rarely seen in this class. Quality, performance, and value without compromise.
