Bristol 38.8 Ted Hood shallow draft (centreboard) cruiser
Professionally built in 1983 at Bristol Yachts Rhode Island USA, "LEELA" is an elegant, tested and proven solid fiberglass cruiser. Shoal draft with centerboard for river bar/bay crossing and shallow anchoring, she still sails well to windward with 3.2m centreboard down. Her solid construction and shoal draft also make her very well suited to coral reef waters. Twenty nine 38.8 Bristol hulls were built between 1982 and 1996, additionally the BRISTOL 3800, WAUQUIEZ HOOD 38 and LITTLE HARBOR 38 are all based on this same hull design. LEELA was updated and modernised prior to completing a short handed trans Pacific crossing and has since been maintained in very good condition. White topsides and hull are in very good condition. She is well suited as a live aboard and can easily be sailed solo for coastal passages. LEELA has been Australian Shipping Registered for international cruising and is ready for adventures! She is currently on the hard at Tweed Heads for annual hull antifouling and maintenance checks due back in the water Friday 23rd January.

Xcellent accommodation for long range cruising and weekends away. Forward is the generous master cabin. This features a large double V-berth with foam mattress and latex topper over interlocking spring support system. There is also a wardrobe, extensive storage, and a private door to toilet/shower. After is a single pilot berth also with intertlocking spring support system. There are also two honeymoon double pull-out beds extend from the settees when additional accommodation is required. The interior also boasts exceptional storage throughout, generous port lights and ventilation, and headroom of about 2m!
