Catalina 270 "Blister in the Sun"

JUST ANTIFOULED, ENGINE JUST SERVICED, NEW MAINSAIL, READY FOR SUMMER.

"Blister in the Sun" is a 2001 Catalina 270, the roomy, easy-to-sail 27-footer from Gerry Douglas's design. She's set up for comfortable summer cruising on Pittwater and Sydney Harbour: long lunches in the Basin, overnights in Refuge Bay and easy day sails with family and friends.

ALL THE EXPENSIVE JOBS ARE DONE:
- Freshly antifouled (September 2026) at The Quays, Church Point. The hull was water blasted, wet rubbed and acid washed before a coat of Altex No. 5 Plus.
- Propspeed on the propeller and shaft.
- Topsides machine polished and hand waxed from the waterline to the gunwale.
- Engine professionally serviced (September 2026) by Oceanside Engineering: oil and filter, primary and secondary fuel filters, impeller, new water pump belt, fuel return line resealed, and a water test.
- New mainsail with a new stack-pack sail bag and lazy jacks, so she's easy to hoist and drop short-handed.
- Dinghy, Honda 2 hp outboard and all safety equipment included. A genuine turnkey package.

A December 2024 insurance survey found her "well maintained", "in sound structural condition" and "in seaworthy condition". It found no signs of heavy grounding or major repairs, and the minor items it noted have since been fixed.

Below decks she sleeps four in a forward double and an aft double under the cockpit. There's a proper galley and an enclosed head with a hot shower. Up top, the bimini and dodger keep the summer sun off, and there's a cockpit table and pushpit BBQ for sundowners at anchor.
