CATANA 471  

LeMistral was hauled out for antiquing on Friday 6th October at Rivergate marina. All completed including the sail drives serviced and 1 propeller overhauled. The 471 hull is very well considered, structurally very strong and with a nearly 8m beam provides a stable platform for ocean voyages.
This partical Cat is a high pedigree boat, other than a few cosmetic scratches is ready to go and to impress.
One of the reasons that these boats are so popular is that they were built to last. The 471 was built with 2 outer hull molds and 1 deck mold that were vacuum bagged using vinyl-ester resin and cored with pvc closed-cell foam, with unidirectional cloth for outer laminate and Twaron aramid cloth for inner laminate over the entire hull. The daggerboard trunks were over engineered to be 7 times stronger than the daggerboards. All of the structural bulkheads were cored with Nidacore honeycomb core with carbon fiber on each sides.
This particular vessel has had 2 private, family owners and has completed extensive cruising across the Atlantic to Caribbean, USA, Pacific, Australian Great Barrier Reef. It was imported into Australia Nov 2014, being moored at a private dock.
