Design Origins (1986): The boat was drawn up during the golden era of Lock Crowther's career. Crowther was renowned for creating incredibly fast, lightweight, and balanced multihulls using innovative hull shapes and materials. The Global Circumnavigation: In the 1990s, original owners Chris and Karen Ennor took Magic Carpet on a massive voyage around the world. The Pirate Incident: During their circumnavigation en route to the Suez Canal, Magic Carpet was attacked by Somali pirates. The vessel sustained multiple bullet holes, and Karen was unfortunately injured in the thigh. Despite the horrific event, the boat's tough build and speed allowed them to escape safely. Recent Life: The boat eventually returned to Australia, where it was put up for sale on the market. It remains a celebrated classic among Australian multihulls enthusiasts.
