Picaroon is an enchanting 5.5 metres wooden motor-sailor with classic lines and a solid stripped-plank hull.
She has proven to be a staunch and seaworthy boat for her size and has been trusted in rough coastal conditions.
This is a partial restoration project suited to someone who appreciates traditional timber boats, enjoys a restoration project and wants a manageable sized vessel to bring back to her best.
The hull is in good condition for its age and has been continuously kept afloat.
The plywood deck and cabin top have several soft spots that will require repair.
The 6hp Yanmar PMX 6 diesel is not running and needs repair. The cylinder head and some related parts have been removed but are boxed and available. A new head gasket made to origional specification is included.
This sailboat is not a trailer boat and will require a mooring or pen.
An ideal project for the practical owner or classic boat enthusiast.
Picaroon has been part of the family since 1975, so we'd like to see her go to a good home!
