De Novo is a well-cared-for Canadian-built CS 36 Traditional, a proven and capable cruising yacht with classic lines and a practical cruising layout.
Having sailed south from Washington State, De Novo is Polish registered and has been in the care of her current cruising-couple owners since 2016. She is now located in Fiji, presenting well and ready for her next adventure.
She is powered by a 39hp Yanmar diesel and is well equipped for extended cruising, including a Monitor windvane self-steering system, chartplotter, radar, useful instrumentation and a portable watermaker. Her sails are in reasonable cruising condition.
Below decks she offers comfortable and practical accommodation, with a double forward berth, quarter berth and convertible saloon berth, together with the storage and facilities expected of a genuine cruising yacht.

De Novo features a spacious and practical cruising interior with approximately 6'3" headroom.
To port is a well-equipped galley featuring a Force 10 three-burner stove, refrigeration and excellent storage in cupboards and lockers. Opposite, to starboard, is the navigation station and quarter berth.
The main saloon provides comfortable seating, with a settee to starboard and a drop-down table converting the area to a double berth, while a single settee/lounge is located to port.
Moving forward, the heads compartment is to starboard, with the private forward accommodation comprising a V-berth with a large opening overhead hatch, providing good natural light and ventilation.
The opening cabin-side hatches have been renewed and are functioning well, with clear glazing free from crazing and cracking. Overall, the interior is clean, practical and very well suited to comfortable cruising.
Galley
The galley presents exceptionally well and features a **spotless stainless-steel Force 10 three-burner stove**, complete with propane alarm and automatic gas shut-off for added safety.
Refrigeration is provided by an **Isotherm approximately 3 cu ft icebox/freezer**, which can be operated as a freezer. The galley is fully equipped with kitchenware and offers excellent storage in cupboards and lockers.
Fresh water is treated through a **Cuva UV and micron water-filtration system**, providing a practical and well-equipped galley ideally suited to extended cruising.

Electrics
The electrical system includes two Remco 6 V 224 Ah house batteries, one AGM starter battery, and a 20 A battery charger. Charging is provided by the alternator and four 500 W solar panels. An additional Victron Phoenix 12 V 500 W inverter is fitted. A portable 100 Ah 12 V lithium battery with an internal GPS is also included as a spare power source, suitable for assisting with equipment such as Starlink

Navigation electronics include a new 2025 Norcross depth sounder, B&G broadband 3G radar, AIS, Raymarine ST4000 autopilot, B&G chartplotter, backup GPS, wind instruments, and a Scan Monitor wind vane installed in 2021. Communications equipment includes an Icom VHF radio, a handheld VHF, Iridium GO, and Starlink.
Sail Inventory
The sail inventory includes a custom mainsail 2020, one spare mainsail, a 110% primary jib, and a 140% genoa. The mainsail has three reefing points, and the genoa is fitted to a Harken Mark III furler. A storm jib is also included and has never been used.
