The 1978 Down East 38 is a robust, long-keeled, wheel-steered staysail schooner designed for versatility and adventure. With its two masts- an aluminum foremast deck-mounted and an aft mast keel-stepped- this boat is set up for both ocean crossings and canal cruising, thanks to its shallow 1.5-meter draft. The boat is crafted from fiberglass. With a teak deck and spacious aft cockpit, offering both strength and elegance.
