Duncanson 29

Fully renovated and upgraded with no expense spared over the past 5 years. Great boat for those new to sailing, or someone just looking for something more solid, reliable, that can handle some weather or single-handed with ease. These boats have circumnavigated the globe.

I've had this boat for 10 years and am only selling now because the kids have grown up and we need a little more room.

There hasn't been one thing on this boat that hasn't been improved or upgraded. The list includes (just put "new" on the beginning of each line):
- standing rigging 12 months ago
- running rigging 18 months ago
- bimini and dodger 3 yrs ago
- 2 x 140AH Giant Power AGM batteries (just installed)
- Boat completely re-wired in oversized tinned copper wiring from masthead to bilge / bow to stern. All wires labelled and run through conduit with all connections in glue lined heat shrink.
- 200W solar panel with isolator and dual battery charge controller
- electric switchboard with battery/energy monitor
- multiple USB chargers throughout cabin
- masthead aerial and VHF radio
- Shore power connection with safety switch
- Simrad TP10 Tiller pilot
- Majestic 24inch marine TV
- 1500W invertor
- Engel Drawer Fridge
- All new lighting (interior, navigation, mast and cockpit lights)
- All storage lockers with individual interior lighting
- Engine Alternator
- Fuel governor re-conditioned
- morse control and throttle assembly
- Engine raw water filtration system
- Propeller, shaft, dripless shaft seal and gearbox coupling
- All windows replaced
- New cockpit door with window installed
- Stanchions re-bedded and with new safety lines
- Slab reefing system
- 2 burner metho stove
- Drinking water bladder
- Recently painted inside and out (deck & cockpit)
- Last antifouled 12 months ago
The engine is a reliable YSE12 Yanmar engine, that starts first time and doesn't skip a beat. There has never been and was no osmosis identified during the last survey (12months ago).
I'm not expecting to recoup any money for these upgrades, it's been a 'labour of love' over the past 10 years for me where I've learnt a lot. The total value of all these upgrades has exceeded $25k (not including man hours), so the boat is priced fairly from an opportunity cost perspective when compared to similar boats currently on the market in the same price bracket.
If you're considering buying a cheaper boat that needs work, then take my word for it, unless you're a masochist and you're not really into the whole sailing / enjoying your life thing, then my advice is don't do it. I've spent so many years getting this boat to the point where I could confidently go out and not worry about anything, I've missed out on a lot of actual sailing time and little adventures around the gulf and beyond. This boat is ready to go.
