Quetzal is a well known Peter Cole design Nantucket 31 mast head sloop with a proud well documented Australian Racing history. Listed below is some background on this exceptional boat. Hull construction & providence. Commissioned by Lyle North of Leyland Australia fame in 1977 using cold moulded technique by well know Tasmanian Builder Jock Muir her hull consists of 4 layers of diagonally-laid Western Red Cedar. This was a proto type of one of only 3 ever built for the Admirals Cup. A complete copy of drawings are available. The hull is dynal -sheathed and topsides sprayed with 2 pack polyurethane. The Boat has a 55% Ballast ratio and Antimonial lead bolted keel a recent survey suggest maintenance was required all invoices and photos are provided. The entire deck was replaces in approx late 1999. LOA 9.5 meters long Beam 3.2 metres and a draft of 1.78 metres makes for a boat that can go most places. Hin Number AUWWA051182C77 Just re resisted with water ways FZ575NEngine Regularly maintained Bukh DV 24 HP with a V drive folding 2 bladed prop drives the boat along at a comfortable cruising speed of 6 knots. Recent re wire will new batteries this year serviced with new impeller and filters less than 2 hours ago. Tools box and spares are included. InteriorQuality interior furnishings include laminated table 12 month old cushions sleeps 6 people in comfort 2 burner stove with oven plates and cutlery are all new 2 stainless sinks Tank age The boat has twin stainless fuel tanks approximately 70 litres each and similar sized dual water tanks. Electronics Raymarine multifunction display wind direction and internal repeaters. Both the 80 amp batteries were replaced 04.23. Complete wiring diagrams are included. Plenty of electronic spares provided. Last year there was a new sole on cabin floor new hatches December 2022 Antifouling. Standing RiggingThe mast and Boom are Hood custom spars and the standing rigging was serviced last year it has a hydraulic back stay the furling head sail fits a twin Gemini track with 3 halyards that are only 3 years old and recently serviced. 6 Barlow winches and 4 other additional winches. Sails Hood furling No 1 head sail was replaced late 2022 and has not seen any use. Hood Spinnaker not yet used still in the bag Accessories 12 month old genuine Zodiac inflatable dingy with outboard that stows easily under the cockpit floor.
