Endeavour 30

1980 Endeavour 30ft Yacht - Trusted Aussie Cruiser, Set Up and Ready to Go

This 1980 Endeavour 30 is a well-respected, Australian-built coastal cruiser. Built by Reg Gardner's Endeavour Yachts--one of the country's major fibreglass boatbuilders from the 60s through to the 90s--this model earned its reputation for strong construction, a roomy interior, and reliable handling. It's a no-fuss yacht that does exactly what it's meant to do: cruise comfortably, sail safely, and perform well in both local and coastal conditions.

At 30 feet in length, with a beam of 3.2 metres and a 1.6 metre draft, the boat offers great balance and stability while still being easy to handle. It has a solid fibreglass hull with a fin keel and a deck-stepped mast. Power comes from a reconditioned exchange Bukh DV 20 diesel inboard supplied by Bukh Diesel Australia and installed by T. J. Marine Services Castlecrag, with around 350 hours on the clock--recently serviced and running smoothly.

The sail setup is designed for ease and efficiency, with a furling headsail. Whether you're sailing solo or with a mate, it's an easy boat to manage. Wide side decks make moving around the boat safe, and the cockpit is spacious and practical.

Down below, the layout is clean and functional with full standing headroom. There's a U-shaped dinette fitted forward of galley easily converted to a Settee berth, a V-berth forward, and quarter berths both sides under cockpit seats and side decks. Timberwork is in good condition, and the cushions are fresh and comfortable. The galley includes a portable fridge/freezer and gas stove setup (currently disconnected), and there's an enclosed marine toilet. The plumbing and wiring are in good order, with only minor items noted for attention.

Insurance survey/condition reports dated 5.2.2021 and 6.4.2025 confirms the hull is structurally sound, with no signs of grounding or osmosis--just a couple of superficial blisters aft of the keel, easily monitored. The keel is secure. Rudder, shaft, and skin fittings are in good shape, with bearings within normal tolerances. Rig and fittings present well from deck level, and the standing rigging shows no obvious issues.

If you're looking for a well-built coastal cruiser that's ready to go with only minor finishing touches needed, this Endeavour 30 is a smart buy. Ideal for Sydney Harbour, Pittwater, or heading further afield, it's a proven design with the space, strength, and setup to take you there in comfort.
