Etchells Modified E30

I've owned Mim since 2017, for the first 5 years we used her for day sailing in Sydney Harbour with our young kids. The last 3 years I've regularly raced her in twilight's and Wednesday afternoon races. Selling to upgrade to a larger boat.

She's a joy to sail, the rigging is simple, and the setup is quick and easy. High ballast ratio means you can comfortably race her with 2 or 3 people in a full range of conditions. She's a competitive boat in PHS racing against larger / longer boats and finished first on scratch in the 2024 modified Etchells regatta. There are often 3 other modified Etchells in the RPEYC Wednesday racing offering some fun competition.

All standing rigging and sheets have been renewed in the last 2 years. All lines have adequate purchase keeping loads low for ease of use. Jib is set up with course and fine tune + out haulers for reaching.

A Torqeedo electric pod motor (similar to a sail drive) is maintenance-free, always ready, lighter and less hassle than a diesel. The battery offers 2 hours of motoring at 5 knots. We normally use less than 10% getting in and out of the bay or over to a race area, but there's enough capacity to get you home from anywhere in the harbour if the wind dies. Solar panels on the aft deck automatically keep the battery fully charged.
