Kahibah is a Fareast 28R. Hull number 674. Launched in August 2025 she is the newest 28R in Australia.
The 28R is a fast fun boat to sail, happily gets on the plane with and without spinnaker.
It's a very well balanced boat, very light, skiff like, agile and rewarding to sail. The boat has been kept deliberately simple, making setup and maintenance straight forward.
Standard specification includes
- A carbon keel fin and rudder.
- Displacement of 1400kg.

She can be comfortably sailed with 3+ people non-spinnaker and 4-6 with spinnaker. There is ample space on deck for 6 or 7.
The boat has been meticulously setup and cared for.
Included beyond the standard one design setup is:
- Sails: All supplied by UK Sails. Jibs: J1 & J2, Main. Full size spinnaker (white) - used 2-3 times, small spinnaker (grey) used < 10 times, both with companionway bags.
- ePropulsion 1kW outboard, with custom made cover for the leg. Removable battery and home charger.
- 2 jib poles, one for gull wing, one for broad reaching. Stainless steel pole attachment ring on the front of the mast. Both poles are carbon fibre.
- A Calypso wind sensor (solar powered, bluetooth, wireless) and wind vein with custom brackets on the mast top. The wind sensor is compatible with a Vakaros instrument or smartphone app.
- Full cat 7 kit, including lightweight aluminium anchor, inflatable life jackets.
- Rechargeable navigation lights.
- Various trim marks tor the jib, under spreaders, deck etc.
- Instrument mount on mast suitable for Vakaros or similar (Vakaros not included).
- Antifouled in August 2025 (Vivid, black), hull cleaned by divers every 3-4 weeks since launch.
- Friction rings for ouboard sheeting of the jib
- Full boat cover setup for use on a mooring / berth. Black.
- Numerous bits rope work that make the boat easier to use each day, faster to set up etc.
- No holes drilled in the hull (cabin tops / underside). No non standard fittings installed.
The boat has been well maintained, washed down regularly. Never left unused without the full boat cover in place. The boom cover has been kept on the main sail. The boat remains dry below deck under a full boat cover without the need for a bilge pump.
A second hand 4hp two-stroke outboard is also included and can be useful for longer passages under motor.
She is moored in Sydney Harbour and available for viewing.
