FASTBACK 43 CUSTOM  

Rahana is a performance cruising catamaran built by a boat builder for himself from the moulds of the Fastback 43 design. Some modernising touches were added to improve an already great design. These alterations reflect on the builders 15 yrs live aboard experience on a previous cat.
Hand laid in Vinylester resin with solid glass hulls and foam composite everywhere else including bulkheads. There is no ply used anywhere in the construction.
Built over 8000hrs with no shortcuts in construction, strong and considerably lighter than equivalent sized production boats.
All systems, electrical, water, fuel and sails have been carefully thought out. Everything a cruiser requires is here without being overly complex and a maintenance nightmare.
Mid mounted Nanni diesels are easily accessible for service. Coupled with S/S shafts and auto stream feathering propellers make for efficient propulsion.
Liveability is superb for a couple and guests with 2 bathrooms, 2 fridges (utectic) a dedicated pantry area and a saloon big enough to hold a dance in.
Dinghy is a custom built Magic Carpet 3.5 (check out the you tube magic carpet 3.5 catamaran dinghy). Designed by another live aboard after trying every off the shelf tender on the market.
Rahana completed the Sail 2 Indonesia and Sail Malaysia rallies last year and is currently undergoing a haul out and maintenance program at Pangkor Marina
Malaysia. Rahana is right ready to go on further adventures. She will be heading back to Australia shortly but could be handed over to a new owner in Asia to explore this wonderful part of the planet.
Lighter stronger, faster and over half the price of equivalent production cats. Nothing to be done but move on and go wherever.
