Hamilton 40ft Gaff Rigged Ketch


Sabot is a well balance Gaff Rigg Ketch built of Mahogany Timber at Marietta Cove Boat Yard Nova Scotia Canada
Designed by E. H. Hamilton on the traditional trading Ketches as a pleasure craft for William A Hall
Launched in 1949
After 17 years Sabot was purchased by Richard and Mary-Anne Stresauin in 1974. Eventually plying the waters around Nova Scotia reaching as far North as N44.5, W283.0.
They sailed throughout the pacific eventually at Bunderberg Australia, then onto Sydney. Sabot then went under a major refit including new bow spit, coach house and galley. The current owner purchased Sabot in 2007, sailed Sabot from Sydney to Tasmania, into cooler
waters to Tasmania
We have owned Sabot and have fully maintained the integrity of her over many years
She has been in 6 Wooden Boat Festivals in Hobart over the years.
Sabot will be on the slip at Bellerive Yacht Club from 17th April for out off water inspection...
