Designed by the renowned Judel and Vrolijk, naval architects and manufactured by Hanse Yachts in Germany, the Hanse 375 is super-sleek with near-plumb ends, low freeboard, an open transom, long waterline, and a generous beam. It is designed to be both quick and easily handled by a small crew.
The generous beam continues well aft maximizing interior volume, as with the cabintop which is extended out as far as possible
The foredeck is uncluttered, with a deep chain locker that also houses the electric windlass.
The teak inlaid cockpit is wide and boasts an open transom which is great for swimming and boarding, after which you can clean off with the handy cockpit shower.
The cockpit also features four lockers for storage, and a sealed locker for a single propane tank.
As with all Hanse designs, the hull is heavily reinforced and incorporates a complex framework of foam stringers and floor beams for strength and stiffness. Weight is reduced by using a balsa-cored laminate above the waterline. Vinylester resin is used throughout to minimise any chance of osmosis.
Fitted with a fully battened mainsail and a standard self-tacking 95 percent jib makes life easy. The boat easily driven with a minimum of crew. Steering is light and positive, nicely balanced. She also has a large Asymmetrical Spinnaker for excellent off wind performance.
This 375 features a two aft cabin layout and an aft-facing chart table. The saloon seating is comfortable, with ample storage. The instrument console and switch panel for the electrical system, are neatly organized and easily accessed. Ventilation is plentiful, with two overhead hatches opening opposite ways and long portlights that open outwards so they can be safely left ajar in the rain.
The boat has a good galley with ample stowage, twin sinks, a dual top/front entry fridge and a two-burner gas range with oven.
The fully moulded head compartment is roomy and has a separate shower stall with a seat and partition door. The forecabin has a large V-berth and plenty of floor space.
