The Hunter 36 is perfect size coastal cruising yacht for a couple or small family. It has been thoughtfully designed with simple reliable systems and ease of use in mind.
Hunter has designed a mid-sized cruising yacht that is incredibly easy for a couple to sail, or single handed for that matter. With a furling mainsail and a furling jib, it quite simply doesn't get any easier. The primary winches have been placed directly beside the wheel in easy reach for the helmsman. The heavy-duty stainless arch above the helm has a large traveller and the control lines are also in easy reach for the helmsman. And as you would expect on a modern production boat, the chartplotter and autopilot controller are on the pedestal at the helm.
The cockpit is spacious and easy to move around. The helm seat folds down and the wheel folds to give easy access to the swim/boarding platform on the transom. There are loads of cup holders and a large double folding table for entertaining. There is a huge lazarette on the port side with a ton of storage that will easily accommodate an inflatable dinghy. This model also features the hugely popular princess seats on the pushpit.
Down below the Hunter 36 features a classic two double cabin layout. The forward V-Berth has a comfortable sized double bed, some great storage options and a rather unique louvered window in the bulkhead that opens into the saloon. The master aft cabin features a full-size, athwartships, queen size bed with a headboard. Two opening hatches provide great ventilation.
The saloon has a U-shaped settee, and the large dining table drops down to create an additional double berth. On the port side is a full-length settee that also doubles as the seat for with a large nav table facing aft.
The galley features upmarket Corian bench tops, twin stainless sinks, and a very handy bin that is easily accessed through the countertop behind the sink. Refrigeration is well catered for with an upright fridge below the galley bench and a separate freezer on the port side below the nav table.
The bathroom is a real surprise package for a yacht of this size and features a sperate shower stall with a glass door.
On the whole the boat presents in good condition, however there are a few items that need some attention in the near future, and this is reflected in the asking price.
