Presented in excellent condition following a major refit, this small ship presents a variety of opportunities. Originally launched as a trading vessel providing a very strongly constructed hull, and with the refit now providing a level of accommodation allowing serious offshore long distance cruising or simply a great liveaboard.
It should be noted this is a true sailing vessel, well set-up for ease of handling particularly when short handed, plus performs very well under motor giving the option of using as a motorsailer too
Master shipwright Rudi Dahms managed the refit in Launceston Tasmania and the result is quite stunning.
Step aboard and you are immediately impressed by the wide walk-around decks with the high bulwarks providing a real feel of security, the aft deck has a custom timber table with dedicated seating ideal for outside entertaining/relaxing at anchor, great working area for'ard and then access into the main cabin from either port or starboard full size doors
The wheelhouse area also has its own entry and feeds into the main saloon, also with an adjacent pilot berth and great vision.
The saloon features leather sofas, a large screen TV that folds away and a great dining table with bench seating for up to 8 people.
The galley is akin to a small apartment and is just aft of the saloon.
A full bathroom with large dedicated shower bay is aft again and then step down into the large master cabin, with queen size berth an additional singles.
Access to the very spacious for'ard cabin with berths for up to 9 is via a dedicated easy set of stairs leading from the wheel house ara or via the engine room, which also links back to the aft master cabin.
The large engine room is presented in very clean and tidy seaman like condition, with good access to all working machinery.
Powered by a Detroit GM 8V71 280 hp diesel the vessel steams at an easy 8 knots cruising and a top speed of 11 knots, with excellent fuel economy using an economical 16 ltrs per hour with a serious long distance cruising range from the 3500 ltrs of fuel carried..
The schooner rig features working sails on furlers, plus one hoisted manually enabling the vessel to be sailed comfortably by two people as the current owner has done with his wife extensively cruising Asia and the Pacific over the last few years.
The vessel has good electronics, plus a genset, auxiliary Yanmar running the water maker and alternator, custom alloy twin hull dinghy on davits with good boarding access from the large duck board, it has just come off the slip, and fully anti-fouled so all the maintenance is well and truly up to date.
The clipper bow makes this a very distinctive looking boat, please call John Radonic on 0459 322 862 or Jo Breen 0432 031 100 for more information
