She is an ideal club racer, optimised for ORC, IRC & AMS handicap but nevertheless a comfortable cruiser to sail with family and friends. It's difficult to find another yacht that so well blends superior performance, maneuverability, quality and comfort. The J/111 is the ultimate mid-sized racer / cruiser.
The sleek, low profile design and hull shape are optimized for BOTH upwind and downwind performance. The J/111's will perform in a variety of conditions and remain maneageable and balanced in strong breeze. The equipment and deck layout of this class is first rate, with a lightweight carbon rig and well balanced Lewmar steering and a new carbon wheel. Manufactured in the US to the highest exacting standards, Grumpy Jents is a one design with clever recent uprades.
Grumpy Jents was Australian champion in 2018,2019 and 2020 and has been raced as a regatta boat in Melbourne after being imported directly from the US. She has had consistent wins since racing in Australia. Grumpy Jents was slipped recently in August this year for an annual hull clean and anti foul and cut an polish to the topsides.
She is definitely the best J/111 on the market today in Australia.
