Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 "French Connection"

The Marc Lombard-designed Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 was/is a breakthrough design in terms of rig simplicity, hull design and use of space below deck.
With simple sail controls (no backstay) and uncluttered decks, the easily handled SO349 is a delight to sail, fully crewed or short-handed, whether cruising the coast or club racing. Twin wheels/twin rudders make for a remarkably responsive and forgiving, vice-free performer. A 21 hp Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine (LOW HOURS) economically provides auxiliary power. The engine compartment is accessed behind the companionway steps. A bowthruster takes the drama out of manoeuvring in the marina. Boarding is via the midship gates. The transom, with an integrated foldaway swim ladder, is lowered to form the swim platform. The sprayhood sheltered cockpit is spacious. The seats are finished with laid teak. Below deck, light streams through the large side windows and deck hatch, highlighting the classic, warm and inviting look of Alpi Teak finishes. Aft and starboard is a comfortable private double cabin. The full-service galley is immediately forward. To port is the bathroom with a separate shower stall. Aft of the bathroom is a huge cabin/storage space which can double as a single berth. Both aft cabins have large hatches opening to the cockpit (under seating), providing light and ventilation. The navigators' nook is forward of the bathroom. The dinette consists of nicely upholstered settees port and starboard, with a fold-leaf table amidships. The double berth V-cabin forward of the bulkhead has extra-wide double doors affording privacy, closed and an 'airy feel' when open.
The current owner is a vastly experienced boat owner who has enjoyed club racing (and with great success). His boats have been and are fastidiously maintained. However, health issues now force him to hand over the helm and offer "French Connection" for sale. This is a rare opportunity for you to step aboard an SO349, a fine cruiser/racer that is fun and easy to sail, that is safe, strong and seaworthy and with all the comforts below deck.
