Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 Legende

It's time to offer Abella to the next lucky owners. She has been a much loved member of our family and has looked after us well with both bay sailing and coastal passages. Note this boat has never been used for charter.
Currently located in the Whitsundays and travelling back to Brisbane from mid-October. We are happy to show her to buyers at any marina along the way.

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 is a very comfortable and spacious cruising yacht and being one of the few Legende, Abella is top end specification including teak cockpit floors. Abella presents very well. Built in France in late 2005 and launched in Australia in 2006. She is nicely optioned with a spacious 2-cabin layout and impeccable sailing manners. The first of a long line of hugely successful Lombard designs for Jeanneau.

We are the second owners and both owners have maintained her to a high standard with annual engine services and out of water maintenance. Each service always including new impeller, belts, fuel and oil filters, antifouling and anodes. The exhaust elbow was replaced in 2023, water pump in 2025, cutless bearing in 2025, engine mounts in 2024 and the Volvo shaft boot in 2025. The standing rigging was replaced in 2019. New main sail and sail bag in 2023. The autopilot belt in 2025.

The cockpit has excellent ergonomics and features the teak floor option, and a folding pedestal table. There is a hot & cold transom shower, and BBQ, while on the binnacle there is multi-instrumentation and the wheel drive autopilot control. The chart-plotter is down below.

The canvas package offers excellent coverage and great visibility while on long cruising legs or upon anchor enjoying a sundowners with friends. This includes a spray-dodger with window cover, two biminis one housing 350W of flexible solar panels (which help enhance her lovely lines) and binnacle and winch covers. A full set of cockpit cushions allows all activities in comfort and style.

The two-cabin owners layout means that there is great stowage space, a huge garage and an excellent owner's cabin. The galley is a traditional L-shaped design, while the chart table is foward facing. The saloon is U-shaped to starboard with seating opposite.

Entertainment is a breeze with a Eno two burner gas stove and oven, large top load refrigerator, 20lt hot water heater from engine or shorepower; 12v TV; Pioneer stereo with cockpit and saloon speakers. Starlink dishy is mounted on the aft Bimini in a removable bracket.

New house batteries 2 x110W AGM were fitted in 2023 and power is supplemented by 2 x 175W solar panels and Vitron MPPT 100 Smart controller, both new in 2025, which can be monitored using the Vitron battery monitor. New Vitron 240W battery charger installed in 2025. Separate start battery.

Abella sails beautifully being very well balanced on all points of sailing and all controls managed from the cockpit. With a Draft 1.8m she points beautifully. She punches above her weight and is a lovely well mannered boat that offers lively sailing. The Main sail was replaced in 2023, the high-cut headsail offers perfect balance and fantastic forward vision. The Asymmetric spinnaker in a sock, for ease of deployment, is great for those light downwind days and looks resplendent.

The engine is a Yanmar 3YM30, shaft drive with circa 2400 hours. Fuel consumption of approximately 2Lts/hr. She has an Autostream 3 bladed feathering propeller, the cutless bearing replaced in 2025.

The tender is a Highfield Ultra Lite 2.4m aluminium bottomed inflatable and fits nicely on the stainless-steel snap davits mounted on the sugar scoop. The outboard is a 4 stroke 4HP Yamaha is housed on the pushpit.

The electronics package consists of a VHF ICOM IC-M302, Vesper XB 8000 AIS transponder and receiver, Raymarine ST 4000 autopilot, ST60 wind, C70 GPS/Chartplotter, ST60 Tridata - Speed, depth and temperature.

Safety equipment includes; GME 406 EPIRB expiry March 2027; 4 person Great Circle Oceanmaster life raft in service until March 2026, Peel Gas Monitor new in 2025; 3 x dry powder fire extinguishers; fire blanket. Various life jackets; Seabreak anchor drouge, spare 25kg danforth anchor with 50 metres chain and rope rode; Dan bouy pole; horseshoe life ring with floating light; Burke retriever float; Safe-up flexible ladder: deck and cockpit jack lines; various in date flares. Starlink dishy for offshore weather updates. Abella is set for coastal cruising.

This is an excellent example of this popular sized Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 and is an excellent entry level family yacht for Coastal Passages to places of dreams.

Abella has allowed us to see and experience things we only dreamt about. What are you waiting for?
