Built in 1990, Le Tournesol should not be judged by her age. Between 2017-2018, she underwent an extensive inside-and-out refit exceeding AUD 300,000,- including a new mast and rigging, engine, teak deck, hatches/windows, plumbing, wiring and electronics and a complete interior renewal. Also, the hull and deck were professionally spray painted. No expense was spared in bringing her to a standard rarely seen in yachts of this era.
The result is a modern, fully equipped bluewater cruising yacht with push-button electric sail handling, combined with the exceptional strength of a hand-laminated hull, significantly stronger than modern mass-production vacuum-infused constructions. Le Tournesol is fitted with a skeg-hung rudder for enhanced safety and tracking.

The Jeanneau Voyage 12.50 is widely respected as a robust, comfortable long-distance cruising monohull, offering a spacious three-cabin interior, a very well-equipped galley, and practical features such as a transom swim platform, making her ideal for family cruising.
Le Tournesol is exceptionally easy to handle, whether sailing solo or as a couple. She features fully electric furling for both mainsail and genoa, all operated from the cockpit at the push of a button. In the cockpit two Lewmar 54 electric winches make life even easier.
Her excellent seakeeping, stability, and comfort at sea are proven, while she also delivers outstanding sailing performance. Downwind on the open ocean, daily runs of 150 nautical miles are easily achieved.
Rigged as a masthead sloop with double headsails, she carries both a genoa and an inner furling jib, offering excellent versatility for cruising and heavy-weather sailing. For light winds, she is additionally equipped with both a gennaker and spinnaker.
She is fully self-sufficient, equipped with 750 watts of solar power, a backup generator, and a Schenker Modular 60 watermaker, making her ideal for off-grid and remote cruising adventures.
Below deck, the interior is warm and elegant, finished in rich mahogany, with a large saloon, three cabins, and two heads. The galley is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, double sink, 3-burner gas stove with oven and microwave.
