Description: Jim Young 47
Sir Henry Merkin was built in the early 70s by Lembert and Piese for 2 very discerning WA yachtsmen. Consequently the quality of construction is excellent and warrants the amount of money, time and work that has returned her to a condition almost as good as new. Prior to her current refurbishment she cruised extensively and has even competed in the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. With a new engine, redesigned keel and modern equipment she is well set up for long range cruising. The furling sails, large and electric winches make Sir Henry Merkin easy to sail short handed. She is fast with a soft motion and very comfortable.
