John Pugh 48 Sloop Steel

This is a very unique John Pugh design. The interior
layout is very clever and liveable. You enter aft throught
the wheelhouse and then down into the very open and
comfortable saloon area. Down aft is the master cabin
and workroom and down forward is the bunkhouse
galley and head. She presents in a clean and tidy
condition. She would make a perfect
liveaboard as she is large and comfortable. Being a John
Pugh design you know she sails well and has clocked
speeds up to 12knots on a beam reach.

INTERNAL OVERVIEW
The layout was arranged to maximize floor space so that
people can move about freely without having to
scramble over each other and also to cater to young
children who need space to crawl and play. Standing
height in every room (6'2" in main living spaces) Meranti

with underlay in living areas and timber flooring in
wheelhouse and galley, Insulated

BERTHS
There are four bunks. The aft cabin could easily
be modified to make a double bed (there is enough
room to split into two smaller cabins actually) but for
comfort and practicality in open water, the current
configuration is a good one.

GALLEY
REFRIGERATION Westinghouse fridge + bar
fridge + 453 Lt deep freezer with as new compressor and
motor.
OVENS Microwave oven and convection oven
STORAGE Two separate large pantries as well as general
cupboard and under seat storage
SALOON SEATING 4 seat recliner set. Four-seater lounge
setting each with reclining abilities is one of the unique
features of this vessel, a welcome relief to the usual
cramped bench seating.

SAFETY
The fully enclosed wheelhouse provides additional living
space as well as all-weather protection.
Steel wielded railings (including around the mast)
provide solid hold, tie-off and scaling points.
The Crow's nest gives exceptional distance and depth
viewing.

In addition, she has an as new starter motor and oil temperature and
pressure gauges. Items such as skin fittings and internal
valves have been replaced as necessary. The sheet lines
have been stored safely in the hold and there is a coil of
additional line in case something needs replacing. She
also has some spare hardware.

TO DO
The engine will need to be serviced. The standing and running rigging will need to be replaced to go sailing. She will need to be antifouled.

She is currently stored on the hard.
